Thank You Biden

It's comforting to know that President Zelenskyy and President Biden were able to meet face-to-face to discuss the grand strategy for Ukraine. It's amazing that the administration was able to help Zelenskyy visit Washington safely, so he could address the US Congress. It's amazing that the US Congress is passing all of the funding Ukraine needs for 2023 right now, so there is no doubt in the adversary's mind that Ukraine will have the funding they need. Zelenskyy's visit to Washington was a signal to the world that the USA is willing to defend smaller nations from aggression and that we respect their right to national self-determination. The USA will not pressure or coerce any nation into following a specific path. It was the best signal President Biden could send to the world right now. It was the most encouraging message Biden could give to the Ukrainians, who are suffering severe hardships over the holidays. I thank him for doing so.

Zelenskyy's words were also very encouraging. Specifically he stated that the funding the USA provides to Ukraine is not charity, but an investment in our collective security. Nothing could be more true. Ukraine is single-handedly fighting an adversary of the USA. Building a security partnership with Ukraine is the best way for the USA and NATO to counter Russia. Funding Ukraine's success and victory against one of our foes is the best strategy for our own national security. The press conference at the White House also brought to light the reasons behind the delay in weapons to Ukraine, which is that the USA first seeks approval from our allies before sending weapons to Ukraine. Some of our allies are reluctant to provide that approval and they use the threat of escalation as the reason. So we will need to put more pressure on our allies to support Ukraine's right to defend themselves with the best weapons available. We must all do our part to assure the survival and success of liberty in Ukraine.

President Kennedy's famous words from his inaugural address in 1961 were: "Let every nation know, whether it wishes us well or ill, that we shall pay any price, bear any burden, meet any hardship, support any friend, oppose any foe, in order to assure the survival and the success of liberty."

That is exactly what President Biden did yesterday. Thank you, Biden.

Slava Ukraini ✌
